WE ARE NOT CREATED EQUALLY

by Samantha

I’m sitting here listening to Charlie Puth.  I never listen to the radio so while I know who he is, I don’t know his music.  I’m not paying much attention to the words, just his voice and arrangements and I can see why he is a sought out artist to work with.  He’s a seriously talented musician.

Trying to make the connection between being created equally & Charlie Puth?  If we all have equal talents & abilities, what would be special about him?  What would be special about any of us?  Think about musicians like Whitney Houston & Kodi Lee.  Think about a world without that feeling you get when you experience someone as diverse & special as Kodi Lee or when you hear Whitney start singing “If I…” and you’re immediately captivated.  I have to mention Dolly Parton here as she’s the genius that wrote that song and one of the best artists ever (if you say otherwise we can’t be friends, lol).  What would the world be like if we were never moved by anyone?

We are all born unique.  Not equal.  We all have something special to offer.  Some were born with abilities that make them incredibly talented artists.  Others were born with a strong ability to handle some seriously gross shit that makes them able to do things important to our health and way of living, like waste management for example.  Some have abilities that improve our quality of life, others abilities are necessary for our survival, like the farmers, ranchers and fishermen that provide the food we eat.

As a society, in order for us to achieve the balance we are seeking we need to embrace the beauty & necessity of the fact that we are born different.  As individuals we need to find what makes us special, embrace it and run with it.  We are all equally important and should be treated as such.  We won’t always agree and that’s ok, we can respectfully agree to disagree.  We don’t have to like each other but we do need to respect each other as humans.  It’s not ok to deny anyone basic human rights because we lack the ability to understand what we cannot feel or see, or things we haven’t experienced first hand.

We are born with balanced scales and free will.  What happens next is up to us.
